There’s a big eight days to come. Tomorrow is a new day and we’re looking forward to getting back on the bike and giving our all.”
Reaction

- Geraint Thomas

“It was a good test today but I didn’t feel great to be honest I started quite fast but didn’t really have the legs in the last 3km which is where you need it. You can be exposed in a 9km prologue if you’re not quite on it.

“For sure I’d like to be closer to Rohan Dennis, but I’m there or thereabouts. He’s a specialist, I didn’t expect to beat him but I had hoped to be a bit closer, but It’s not the end of the world. There’s a long race ahead

“I’ll re-fuel at the hotel tonight and then there’s a big eight days to come. Tomorrow is a new day and we’re looking forward to getting back on the bike and giving our all.”

- Sport Director Gabriel Rasch

"It’s the last test for G and Egan before the Tour, G is one of the favourites here and we’ll back him 100%.

“There’s always pressure on guys of their calibre, so this week is no different, but there’s no extra pressure on the guys this week given what has happened to Froomey.

“This race, certainly for G, has been in his mind for the whole season - and it’s a race which he almost won some years back. He will certainly be highlighting more success in this race.”
What's next?

Stage two of the Tour de Suisse is a hilly circuit around Langnau im Emmental which could suit a breakaway and will be one for the GC riders to be careful of if the wet conditions that blighted the final part of the TT return.
