Team INEOS are looking for a Lead Performance Nutritionist to join the team.

The Team INEOS performance support team delivers human science, equipment and data analytics services and we are looking to recruit innovative, high performing practitioners to develop and grow this exciting team.

Job summary

Reporting to the Head of Performance Support and Innovation, the focus of this role is to lead the Performance Nutrition service to the team. You will deliver team wide and individual rider performance nutrition service provision and bespoke performance solutions in both the training and racing environments. Your performance delivery will be underpinned by best in class knowledge and delivered with best in class practitioner skills. In particular you will be able to positively influence nutrition behaviours across a wide range of cultures, and you will specifically be able to communicate highly effectively to both English and Spanish-speaking athletes.

Hours of work

Full-Time, permanent contract. The location is flexible although you will be expected to spend between 80-150 days at training camps and races across Europe.

Roles and Responsibilities

As a member of the Team INEOS Performance Support staffing team, you will: 
  • Lead the development of knowledge, planning and delivery of both team-wide and rider-specific performance focused nutrition programmes that are specific to training and racing.
  • Lead the design and delivery of performance nutritional coaching programmes to riders and staff. 
  • Oversee the collection and management of nutritional related data (e.g. macronutrient intakes, hydration, body composition, resting metabolic rate, physiological testing etc) that is underpinned by rigorous, valid and reliable data collection methods. 
  • Participate in all relevant conference calls and meetings 
  • Maintain robust records of all nutritional interventions and track measurable outcomes. 
  • Ensure that all strategies are underpinned by best in class knowledge that relate to the core determinants of performance in elite cycling. 
  • Maintain high performing relationships with all key stakeholders including; team principal, coaches, medical staff, sports directors, team chefs and additional support staff. 
  • Maintain a high standard of professional conduct at all times, adhering to codes of conduct of relevant professional bodies and the WADA code. 
Essential Criteria
  • BSc Hons (or equivalent) in Sport Science, Nutrition or Dietetics.
  • MSc Hons (or equivalent) in Sport Nutrition, Nutrition or Dietetics or IOC Diploma in Sport Nutrition.
  • PhD (or equivalent) in Sport Nutrition, Nutrition, Dietetics or a related topic. 
  • Professional accreditation with recognised nutritional or dietetics association e.g. UK Sport and Exercise Nutrition Register (SENr), British Dietetics Association or International equivalent.
  • ISAK Level 1 accreditation (or International equivalent)
  • UKAD Antidoping Advisor (or International equivalent)
  • Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene registered (or International equivalent)
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • At least 6 years of experience in delivering performance nutrition services in a high-performance sport environment
  • Experience of working within cycling
  • Able to deliver meaningful performance impact in endurance and/or weight-sensitive sports
  • Capable of translating nutritional requirements to practical food solutions
  • Leadership and management qualities
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. 
  • Able to critically analyse the demands of the event, and the relevant scientific research literature to provide specific nutritional solutions
  • Ability to design, deliver and manage evidence- based safe supplement programmes. 
  • Superb communication and presentation skills. 
  • Excellent data collection, management, and presentation skills. 
  • Ability to positively influence staff and athlete behaviour. 
  • English and Spanish-speaking

Desirable Criteria
  • Clean driving license
  • Experience of working within cycling at World Tour or Pro-Continental level.
  • Multilingual: English, Spanish, Additional languages.
